A tawny owl calls to the imagination along moonlit paths; the redolence of damp earth after the passing storm draws one outside into the cool of the morning... The world is filled with enchantment, and the land is alive with the sounds and smells, the textures, and the beauty of nature's abundance...  My love of wild nature and an appreciation for the simple joys of outdoor experiences are the compass and bearing of my life. Wherever I can, I speak out for fragile lands and wildlife and for the privilege of living in this moment on this wild and beautiful earth.

I need solitude. I need space. I need air. I need the empty fields round me; and my legs pounding along roads; and sleep; and animal existence.

In mid-wood silence, thus, how sweet to be; Where all the noises, that on peace intrude, Come from the chittering cricket, bird, and bee, Whose songs have charms to sweeten solitude.
